11:13Now PlayingPascal Hundt, of the International Committee of the Red Cross, has told Trevor Phillips the ICRC failed to reach Mariupol for five days last week.
In the latest attempt, a Red Cross convoy travelled within 20km of the besieged city before being forced to turn away.
He said: "Our team tried for five days to go to Mariupol and it's a difficult journey because you have to cross the front line, you have to go through many, many check points, sometimes people at the checkpoints, the soldiers, are not aware of your trip.
"So we went there with buses, we moved, we tried, we tried again and again but unfortunately the situation around Mariupol was too dangerous, the security conditions were not good."
