Former Tory cabinet minister, Sir Robert Buckland, has rebuked Home Secretary Suella Braverman after she appeared to undermine the Prime Minister with a controversial speech yesterday.

Sir Robert backed the PM, telling Sky News: "The top job is filled by Rishi Sunak, and I want him and most Conservatives want him to stay in post."

He said Mr Sunak has built a "strong team" to govern with "maturity and sense", adding "now is the time for the team to work with him, to support him."
