7:31Now PlayingThe president of the National Farmers' Union has told Sky News that Brexit and the loss of freedom of movement have contributed to a higher cost for the EU's seasonal workers.
Minette Batters called for the seasonal worker visa scheme to be extended to allow workers to stay in the UK to work from the current six months to nine months.
Asked about the Home Secretary's comment yesterday that there are more than enough people in the UK who could fill those seasonal roles, Ms Batters said: "Picking our fruit and vegetables is highly skilled, and we need to recognise the value of these jobs."
