Suella Braverman has said her previous claim that multiculturalism had failed has been "mischaracterised".

In a speech last week in the US, the home secretary hit out at the "misguided dogma" of multiculturalism, saying it had "failed", with communities living "parallel lives".

Speaking on a visit to Bolton, Ms Braverman said it was her job first and foremost "to be honest and speak for the majority of the British people".
