Chancellor Rachel Reeves has denied the government is to stop offering universal free school meals, amid reports the education budget will be hit by cuts in the spring statement this week.

Currently, school lunches are funded for all children in reception to year two, but it's been claimed the chancellor was considering changes which would means-test the benefit.

Ms Reeves has denied the accusation, insisting Labour is the party that's helping working families and children with the introduction of free breakfast clubs.
