Pete Hegseth says it was "very heartening" to hear countries say they need to spend more on defence.
Asked by Parsons if the US would contemplate walking away from the alliance if it feels allies are not stepping up enough, he says: "That's not what we're here to discuss."
The alliance was "sleepwalking into irrelevance", he adds, saying countries thanked Donald Trump for "reviving" NATO.
