9:20Now PlayingNATO chief Mark Rutte has been speaking to reporters ahead of a meeting with Donald Trump in Washington.
Our US correspondent, David Blevins, asked Rutte: "Is your meeting today not an indication President Trump's meeting with President Zelenskyy on Friday was a total disaster?"
"No, not at all. This was already planned before," Rutte said.
"I was texting with the president after the enormous success in Gaza, and we said let's have a meeting in Washington to discuss how we now can deliver his vision on peace in Ukraine."
"It was a good meeting, it was a successful meeting," he added.
Rutte told reporters NATO had been "renewed (and) reinvigorated" since Trump's re-election as president in January, and that he had "broke the deadlock" with Vladimir Putin when the pair spoke over the phone back in February.
