In this reaction, I break down the sudden nature of Graham’s death, why it matters politically, why it matters for Israel and U.S. foreign policy, and why some people online are already speculating about whether Iran could have been involved.
To be clear: there is currently no confirmed evidence that Iran poisoned Lindsey Graham or caused his death. The official preliminary explanation is medical. But because Graham was such a major pro-Israel and anti-Iran figure, the speculation is already spreading — and that is what I’m reacting to.
Was this simply a tragic sudden medical event?
