Rolling Stone just published a major profile of Hasan Piker — and Ben Shapiro argues that the article accidentally exposes some major contradictions in the self-described Marxist streamer’s politics and lifestyle.

In this reaction, I break down Shapiro’s response to the Rolling Stone profile and the debate surrounding Hasan Piker’s views on capitalism, socialism, communism, China and the United States.

Piker has built one of the largest political streaming platforms in America while openly identifying with Marxist politics. But at the same time, his enormously successful online business, paid subscribers, expensive lifestyle and embrace of American consumer culture raise an obvious question:

Can you condemn capitalism while becoming extremely wealthy through a capitalist system?
