YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIs the news starting to feel impossible to keep up with?
To dig into this, my team and I decided to organise an emergency discussion with two figures who have been very vocal about what’s currently happening before our very eyes in real time.
With Donald Trump’s approval rating at an all-time low, the USA launching new strikes on Iran and anxiety over the economy and the future of AI exploding across the states, this can be really overwhelming for people, including myself.
Today, Kevin O’Leary and Cenk Uygur join me on The Diary Of A CEO to figure out if technology has started moving faster than society’s ability to adapt to it?
Cenk ****is the founder of The Young Turks, one of the largest independent political media platforms in the world with over 6 million subscribers, and someone who has spent years criticising corporate power, political corruption and economic inequality.
Kevin (a.k.a. Mr. Wonderful) is one of the world’s most recognisable investors and entrepreneurs, best known for Shark Tank and for building and selling companies worth billions.
The longer this conversation went on, I found myself genuinely surprised by how two intelligent people could look at the same facts and arrive at completely different conclusions about the future.
We spoke about:
- Why AI could replace millions of jobs? (should we be worried?)
- How fear shapes political narratives…
- Whether robots will replace both physical and intellectual work?!
- How socialism is rising among young people!e
- Why voters are losing trust in politicians…
Kevin believes capitalism, despite its flaws, is still the most effective system for driving progress and improving the quality of life over time. His view being that the future belongs to the people who adapt fastest and honestly, I think there’s a lot of truth in that.
Cenk’s view is that if technology and wealth continue accelerating without accountability, we risk creating a society that becomes angrier, more divided and harder to hold together. And judging by the reaction to his opinions online, a lot of people feel that concern already.
I hope this discussion will help unpack some of the complexity of the vast amount of conflicting information out there.
If you’re interested in watching this episode, you’ll get to see both sides of some of the biggest questions shaping our future, AND why the answers are far more complicated than they first appear!
Let me know your thoughts after watching. I would love to hear.
