Combat engineers are brave soldiers who have had important roles in various wars. In the most recent Global War on Terror they filled in a lot of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal roles in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is due to the higher volume threat of Improvised Explosive Devices in this most recent conflict.
