as posted by the channelAs we all know, the Vatican recently dropped a bombshell when the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith released a document outlining the allowance of baptism for trans people, as well as allowing them, and homosexual people, to be Godparents/Sponsors.
The Catholic space is polarized on this issue, and for me, I really try to think of approaching such topics as though I am speaking to those directly impacted... Folks dealing with gender identity issues who are also desperately trying to seek Christ, and want to come into the fullness of the Catholic faith.
So I took the time to do a few things with this video. First, I went directly to the source. I downloaded, translated, and voice recorded the actual translation of the document, from the original Italian it's in, to English. Next, I went directly to the Catechism of the Catholic Church to see how this declaration lines up with what we already know and follow in our faith when it comes to baptism.
I think what I'm going to share is a video that is both truthful, yet charitable and compassionate. My goal is to simply open the floor for conversation beyond the vitriol for the Pope, or the dismay that many seem to have these days regarding our faith.
