7:31Now PlayingComedian Brent Terhune () and historian, professor, and author Juan Cole () () join Francesca this week.
In this segment, they discuss the legacy of Trump’s presidency in terms of the international community. Professor Cole begins by saying that “Trump has done enormous damage to our credibility.” That’s pretty much as positive a review as Trump’s foreign policy legacy is gonna get, folks, because as we all know, the man was and is a hot, spiteful, stupid mess.
Professor Cole goes on to point out the lack of strategy surrounding Trump’s military attacks, which easily tracks, because Donald Trump has no attention span, and thus cannot plan. Unfortunately, this resulted in what Cole refers to as “one-off” attacks with no strategic value.
Francesca correctly names the only coherent strain that runs through Trump’s foreign policy behavior: “Fear us.”
