The stock market has been falling rapidly ever since Trump announced his inane tariffs possibly developed by Grok. At this point it seems like everyone who isn’t inside of Trump’s cabinet is completely baffled by how inept his strategy is.
Larry Kudlow from Fox Business pleaded with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to give any explanation that would make this make sense. Unfortunately for Kudlow and the rest of the world, the word salad Bessent offered up in Trump’s defense didn’t exactly inspire confidence. But don’t worry, according to the personification of cocaine Howard Lutnick, we’re all going to be putting little screws in iPhones soon. American manufacturing!
Even by Trump’s standards, this situation is complete chaos. To the point where we can’t help but ask whether this is intentional, with nefarious motives behind it, or Trump is actually as stupid as he seems. Sadly, the most likely scenario is it is a little bit of column A and B.
