9:47Now PlayingKilmar Abrego Garcia is finally home, but now facing charges that are about as real as Trump’s ‘Golden Age of America’. Garcia was sent along with hundreds of Venezuelan migrants to a grueling maximum security prison called CECOT in El Salvador. Francesca spoke with Representative Yassamin Ansari who went to CECOT to try and meet with Abrego Garcia and bear witness to the conditions.
Democrats like Ansari, Robert Garcia (D-CA), Maxine Dexter (D-OR), Maxwell Frost (D-FL) and Senator Chris Van Hollen have taken matters into their own hands by going to El Salvador on their own. First it was Senator Van Hollen from Maryland who was actually able to meet with Kilmar, even with President Bukele trying to stage the scene to look like they were sipping margaritas. FAIL.
Representative Ansari, along with other house Democrats, followed suit and tried to meet with Kilmar. Unfortunately they were refused, but while they were there, they met with the U.S. ambassador. Unsurprisingly, they learned that Trump has made zero efforts to bring Garcia back. That is, until they could get their trumped up charges in order. More confirmation that this Trump 2.0 regime is completely lawless.
