In the least shocking turn of events, the people detained during that raid were not criminals at all. Not disgusting enough for you? The eviction notices from the slumlord is how ICE determined who to kidnap.
The Trump regime’s barbaric mass deportations were never about going after criminals. It was always about racism and white supremacy. That truth keeps getting more and more clear the further we get into MAGA’s despotic rule. Thanks to recent reporting from ProPublica, we now know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Blackhawk helicopter raid of a Chicago apartment was nothing more than fascist political theatre. Dozens of innocent Venezuelans were detained and terrorized, all because the slumlord who owns the decrepit building wanted to kick them out.
That’s right, the sleazy owner of this distressed building worked with ICE by providing eviction notices for tenants they wanted out. By all accounts, the build was falling apart, so it comes as no surprise that they would have ICE do their dirty work. But all of this begs the question: Where the hell are the Democrats? Why is the “opposition” party doing nothing to oppose any of this?
