Ryan Schwank, an ICE academy instructor who recently resigned, testified in front of a congressional forum about how ICE is being “trained.” According to Schwank, DHS is specifically training ICE recruits to violate the Constitution by ignoring the 4th Amendment that requires a judicial warrant to enter someone’s home. But beyond even this, Schwank’s testimony got even more chilling.
Schwank observed a scenario where an ICE cadet pepper sprayed a bystander for filming ICE operations. When Ryan questioned that cadet as to why they did this, he said, “ I've seen what we're doing in Minneapolis.” These thugs know that they can do whatever they want, and there will be no consequences for them. There is no amount of training that can fix this. ICE needs to be abolished now before more people are hurt.
