On a recent episode of CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper, Tapper brought on several “experts” on the ground in Iran and Israel to talk about the war. One of them was well-known pro-Israel hasbarist Emily Schrader on the show who was not even in Iran nor is Iranian (!) said that, “By and large, the responses from Iranians that I've spoken to have been overwhelmingly in favor of the United States and Israeli action on the ground.” Right… I’m sure most of the Iranians who saw nearly 200 school girls killed by an American Tomahawk missile love what’s happening. Or how about the acid rain created from the bombing of oil infrastructure?
Of course, all of this is just propaganda to try and create a permission structure for this war. Although, usually you do the whole manufactured consent thing before you start a war. But in any case, the reality is this war is extremely unpopular. It seems like only Israel, Trump, and parts of the Iranian diaspora outside of the country are in favor of this. Nobody outside of that is buying this.
