Trump is the first former president to be under a criminal trial for over 30 felony counts of falsifying business records relating to payments of over six figures to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to keep news of an extra-marital affair out of the public view — this in the weeks before the 2016 election he won over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Trump has long been claiming he is the victim of election interference led by “Crooked Joe Biden” and a Department of Justice which he claims has coordinated with the New York Attorney General Alvin Bragg. Trump called the trial an “assault on America!” as he entered the court for jury selection."
