"Attorney Alina Habba echoed client Donald Trump’s false claim that the judge in his Manhattan criminal trial ruled the former president may not attend his son’s high school graduation.
Jury selection began on Monday for a trial that will determine whether Trump falsified business records to conceal hush money payments. He has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts. After court adjourned for the day, Trump emerged and predictably criticized the proceedings to reporters. The former president also accused Judge Juan Merchan of refusing to pause the trial so that Trump may attend son Barron’s high school graduation.
“It looks like the judge will not let me go to the graduation of my son,” Trump said. However, Merchan has yet to rule on that matter, stating that it is too early to decide."
