"Elon Musk, the billionaire ally of President-elect Donald Trump who will help helm the Department of Government Efficiency, issued a not-so-veiled threat to Republican lawmakers during a raging tweetstorm on Wednesday.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) has proposed a stopgap spending bill that has encountered significant pushback from some of his Republican colleagues in both the House and Senate.
But it might be Musk’s attacks that carry the most weight.
At 4:15 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, Musk tweeted that “This bill should not pass,” and he’s gotten noticeably more strident as the day has gone along."
