While The Economy Burns Republicans Are Talking About This Instead.

As the 2026 midterm elections get closer, America's political conversation is becoming increasingly dominated by culture-war rhetoric.

Transgender athletes. Socialism. Communism. Immigration. Another viral controversy. Another reason Americans are supposedly supposed to be terrified of their neighbors.

Meanwhile, millions of Americans are worried about much more immediate problems: jobs, wages, housing, healthcare, food, fuel and the overall cost of simply surviving.

In today's video, we're looking at the growing culture-war strategy heading into the midterms and asking a simple question: Are politicians addressing the problems Americans actually care about, or are they trying to keep voters angry and distracted?

Republicans have increasingly attacked progressive Democratic candidates as socialists and communists, while transgender issues continue to feature prominently in conservative political messaging. At the same time, recent polling shows the economy remains front and center for voters heading toward November.

There are legitimate policy debates underneath many of these issues, and Americans can disagree about them. But when every election becomes a battle over who we're supposed to fear, it's worth asking what isn't getting nearly as much attention.

Because while Washington fights another culture war, working Americans still have bills to pay.
