Roughly 6 in 10 Americans uncomfortable sharing smartphone data to trace COVID-19

On today's What America's Thinking, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds 58% of voters feel uncomfortable with the government accessing health and location data stored on your smartphone in an effort to trace COVID-19. The Hill's National Correspondent, Reid Wilson, and physician and health systems expert, Dr. Prabhjot Singh, break down how contact tracing works and what it might look like in the digital age. This survey was conducted online within the United States from May 6, 2020 among 957 registered voters by HarrisX. The sampling margin of error of this poll is plus or minus 3.17 percentage points. The results reflect a nationally representative sample of registered voters. Results were weighted for age within gender, region, race/ethnicity, income, political party, and education where necessary to align them with their actual proportions in the population.
