While the White House said Musk isn’t technically part of DOGE, his influence over the administration has raised concerns from Republicans and Democrats alike, with many calling for a check of his power and potential conflicts of interest.
The president has stood behind DOGE, however, even as the purge of the federal workforce across the government has Washington reeling.
The Tesla CEO’s remarks are expected to begin at 4:15 p.m. EST.
