Their remarks come as key Trump ally and tech billionaire Elon Musk has openly criticized the legislation as “pork-filled” and a “disgusting abomination." Despite the criticism, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) has voiced optimism that the upper chamber can help move the megabill by the White House's proposed July 4 deadline.
