Their remarks come before the Senate once again takes up dueling stopgap funding proposals that, if passed, would reopen the federal government.
Republicans and Democrats have been engaged in a game of pointing fingers over who is to blame for the lapse in funding. At least three Democratic senators have crossed the aisle in favor of the House-passed “clean” continuing resolution, but five more are needed to push the bill across the finish line.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EDT.
