At the start of the meeting, Trump referenced reports of negotiations with Iran. He sought to clarify that Iran, not the U.S., is “begging” for a deal. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the Pentagon “would continue negotiating with bombs.”
Trump fired off several Truth Social posts Thursday morning, calling multiple times for an end to the filibuster, warning Iranian leaders that they “better get serious soon, before it is too late” in negotiations, and trashing NATO for its lack of help against Iran. Iran’s leaders have been defiant in social media posts this week.
