22:34Now PlayingPresident Trump on Wednesday afternoon will welcome the astronauts from NASA's historic Artemis II moon fly-by mission to the White House.
The four-member crew — commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch and Canadian mission specialist Jeremy Hansen — returned to Earth earlier this month after a 10-day mission that took the astronauts further into space than ever before. It marked a significant step for the space agency as it looks to return to the moon by 2028.
The president called the crew while in space and invited them to the White House while also asking for their autographs.
It also comes after NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman testified before the House and Senate on Trump's fiscal 2027 budget and defended the president's proposed budget cuts to the agency.
The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EDT.
