4:57Now PlayingAjit Pai's five-year term on the FCC expired last year, which means he'll only be able to continue serving on the FCC after 2017 if the Senate votes to re-confirm him before the end of the year. This gives net neutrality activists the opportunity to block his re-confirmation; in fact, some Democratic lawmakers like Maria Cantwell and Ed Markey are already planning to put up a fight. If Ajit Pai doesn't get re-confirmed, this will temporarily save net neutrality, as it will leave the FCC deadlocked, unable to pass the repeal of Title II net neutrality regulations proposed by Chairman Pai.
