Cortez calls in to explain why he believes in God, and it goes off the rails fast. He opens by admitting he has zero evidence — it's all "faith" — which gives Matt and Promise plenty to work with. They walk him through the Bible vs. science on the age of the earth, get him to admit his real "proof" is a bird he saw after his grandmother died, and run a thought experiment where Promise claims God told her Cortez owes her all his money forever. When Cortez can't explain why his logic doesn't justify literally anything, including slavery, he finally says he doesn't care if his beliefs are true — and the call detonates.
