Venue critical in DOJ's grand jury case on Russia collusion, former FBI agent predicts

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has now opened a grand jury investigation into the alleged Russia collusion “hoax” conspiracy.

Attorney General Pam Bondi directed a federal prosecutor to present the evidence to the DOJ to secure possible federal indictments.

Retired FBI special agent Jody Weis said he think charges could range all over the board. He added that the venue where it all takes place will be vital to the whole case.

"If this federal grand jury is empaneled in D.C., I don’t think this is going to go anywhere because you’re going to get jury nullification,” he said. “Now, perhaps, and what I’m hoping for is that the Mar-A-Lago raid could bring the venue to Miami. That’s an entirely different environment in Florida, so I think the venue of this grand jury is going to be key.”
