Luigi Mangione due in court as defense seeks dismissal of state charges in CEO's killing

Terrorism charges against suspected CEO killer Luigi Mangione were dismissed by a New York judge on Tuesday, and the state's second-degree murder charges remain after UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson was shot to death in New York City last December.

Lawyers are arguing that the New York case and the federal death penalty prosecution amount to double jeopardy. Judge Gregory Carro rejected that argument, saying it would be premature to make such a determination.
