Air traffic controllers forced to work for Uber during government shutdown, White House says

Air traffic controllers have been forced to work for Uber as they continue to work without pay amid the ongoing government shutdown, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

Pilots are calling on Democrats to end this dangerous political game," Leavitt said during a news conference on Thursday afternoon.

She said the shutdown is causing "severe" impacts across the country, especially with air travel.

As Thanksgiving quickly approaches in November, Leavitt said the U.S. is nearing the busiest travel time of the year, as millions of Americans with flock to airports ahead of the holidays.
