Kemi Badenoch dismisses women's issues as "woke" - Anoosh Chakelian

Anoosh Chakelian (anoosh_c), Zoë Grünewald (@zoe_grunewald) and Rachel Wearmouth (REWearmouth) discuss whether the Conservative Party have a woman problem.

Before 2020 women were more likely to vote Tory than men were. But since 2015, women have been supporting labour in higher numbers, Chakelian reports that whilst there is a "big gap" between how Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak are viewed by women voters, there is still a way to go.

The three also discuss how Conservative politicians attempt to dodge women's issues. For example Rachel Wearmouth argues that, in a recent committee hearing, Kemi Badenoch dismissed "improving gender equality as just purely a political idea".
