Protests at the coronation threw the Public Order Act into focus, which for a lot of people - including Andrew Marr - "goes too far". It would benefit Rishi Sunak if Keir Starmer committed to repealing the legislation, because then Sunak could paint Starmer as "on the side of the protesters", not "ordinary people going about their daily lives". But the Labour leader has proved to be something of a "disciplinarian", and while it's possible Labour may be being politically prudent, we can't be sure that a Labour government wouldn't retain what Marr terms this "ghastly" act of parliament when they take power.
