$35/Hr Texas-Charlie

This is a "neat", little, example of how the "powers-that-be" in Delaware County, Indiana Government, think they can do whatever they want, think they can get around anything designed to keep them in check, and think they can look out for & take care of their friends!

This is a 3 minute clip of the Delaware County Commissioners Meeting from Monday, March 18th, 2024. During this meeting, Commissioner, James King (LIFE LONG Democrat, turned Republican) says, "next we have an agreement for consulting services."

He then gives the floor to "Mr. Carroll" (Ed Carroll, the Delaware County Auditor, as well as, the Delaware County Republican Party Chairman.

Ed then says, "this is an agreement for Charlie Richmond who is currently my Chief Deputy (in the Auditor's Office), he is going to be leaving and we are asking the Commissioners to allow us to continue working with him even after he leaves." Ed continues, "Charlie has done a lot of things in our office and there are still a lot of things Im going to need him to have access to... so that's what this is about!"

The Commissioner's attorney John Brooke then pipes up, saying, "I took a look at this one (meaning this contract) also and this is pretty standard, I didn't see any problem with it!"

Commissioner Sherry Riggin then says, "$35.00 an hour is a pretty good bargain for all his knowledge!"

At that time all 3 Commissioners (the Cowboi Kids: James King & Shannon Henry) along with their (Sleepy Sister) Sherry Riggin all vote to approve the contract for Charlie Richmond to get $35.00 an hour for work he will be doing for the Auditor's Office.

About now, you are saying, so why is this a big deal? Well...

Charlie Richmond had worked for Delaware County for many years in the past, then he retired and moved to Texas. For some reason, late last year, Ed Carroll called him and asked him to come back to Delaware County, Indiana and work as the Chief Deputy in the Auditor's Office, and Charlie did.

There have been all kinds of SERIOUS PROBLEMS IN THE AUDITOR'S OFFICE IN THE LAST YEAR! AND AS MANY AS 10 OTHER EMPLOYEES HAVE LEFT UNDER STRANGE REASONS.

Charlie was making less than $20.00 an hour in his role in the office... and sometime in the last couple months Ed Carroll & Charlie Richmond decided to ask the Delaware County Council (the Fiscal Body of the County) for a raise for Charlie. They wanted Charlie to make $25.00 an hour.

However, during the Council Meeting (on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024) the County Council did not want to push the salary to $25/hour... but they voted to bump it to $20 an hour!

WELL, THIS WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ED & CHARLIE! AND THEY DO NOT LIKE BEING TOLD NO! SOOO... THEY WAITED UNTIL THE COMMISSIONERS' MEETING A MONTH LATER (ON MARCH 18th) AND THEY WENT TO THEM SAYING:

NOW, NOT ONLY WAS CHARLIE NOT GOING TO WORK FOR LESS THAN $25.00 AN HOUR HERE... NOW HE IS GOING TO QUIT!!! HE IS GOING TO MOVE BACK TO TEXAS... AND WE STILL WANT TO PAY HIM, ONLY NOW, WE WANT IT TO BE $35.00 AN HOUR! 10 MORE DOLLARS THAN WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY ASKED FOR! TO WORK FROM HOME, IN TEXAS! AND THE COMMISSIONERS SAID YES! WITH NO DISCUSSION AND NO THOUGHT GIVEN TO THE COUNCILORS WISHES!

With ALL the problems that have been and continue to plague the Auditor's Office! And they still circumvented the Council, just like that!

THIS, is the reason Delaware County, Indiana needs a MAJOR CHANGE!

Stephen Brand needs to replace King & Troy Ingram needs to replace Riggin!
