as posted by the channelOn February 13th, 2024 an incident occurred at the Henry County, Indiana Jail which resulted in the termination of Correctional Officer, Curtis L. Doughty, of the Henry County Sheriff's Department.
Former CO Doughty was then subsequently arrested on a warrant by Deputies from his former Department and then, the Henry County Sheriff's Department filed paperwork with the Henry County Prosecutor's Office and they requested that formal, criminal, charges be filed against former CO Doughty.
The Henry County Prosecutor's Office complied with that request and formal charges were filed... BUT FOR WHAT???
AN ACTION THAT WAS 100% LESS SERIOUS, DEVIANT, OR CRIMINAL THAN A VERY SIMILAR ACTION TAKEN BY THE ELECTED SHERIFF OF HENRY COUNTY, JOHN M. SPROLES... JUST 7 MONTHS EARLIER, IN JULY OF 2023!
So what is the deal?
Well, it's simple...
Sheriff Sproles thinks he is ABOVE the law... and... oh yeah, he's WHITE!
And, the action that the Sheriff took was against a BLACK INMATE!
Meanwhile, former CO Doughty is BLACK... and the inmate involved in the current incident is WHITE!
So is this just about race? Is this about leadership? Or who any of these people are? On and on and on... we know, you have OH, SO MANY, QUESTIONS... we had them too! That is why we issued a public records request to the Henry County Sheriff's Department, back on February 29th, 2024.
And after some nonsense and delay, on March 14th, 2024 the Henry County Government complied, MOSTLY, with the request! And Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey, has a LOT to talk with all of you about. And in this 161st episode of 'The Political Spotlight' Bilbrey breaks down: "The Pepperball Incident!" And talks all about: "the Sheriff’s Inability to Keep His Yap Trapped!"
