#282 | The Violation of Katherine Callahan! | The Political Spotlight

On Tuesday evening (September 10th, 2024), most "politically minded people" were at home, ready to turn on the train wreck of the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

But not our contributing correspondent, Dr. Katherine Callahan. No! She and a group of Madison County citizens settled into their seats in the Madison County Commissioners & Council Chambers to watch the Madison County Council conduct the business of the people of Madison County, Indiana - while forgetting that they work for those people!

And Katherine, being Katherine, did what she could to remind her "mindless" Public Servants that they work for the citizens!

AND BOOM! That's when it happened!

In what was most likely the first time since becoming Indiana State law, in July of 2024, District 33 State Representative JD Prescott's (R) "Unconstitutional House Bill 1338" was referenced by the Madison County Council before they then used that law, ILLEGALLY, IN OUR OPINION, TO VIOLATE KATHERINE'S FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS, BY HAVING HER REMOVED FROM THE PUBLIC COUNTY COUNCIL MEETING BECAUSE SHE ATTEMPTED TO HOLD HER ELECTED OFFICIALS ACCOUNTABLE BY REDRESSING THEM, IN A PEACEFUL WAY, WITHOUT BEING VIOLENT, OR DISRUPTIVE!

The act that took place, which we will discuss in detail, caused far more disruption than just allowing Katherine to say a few more words!

The Madison County Council mentioned "Prescott's law" before using it precisely as he intended — which was precisely what Hosts Kristopher H. Bilbrey, Brandon Rudd, and Producer Kate were worried about!

And, of course, Council President Ben Gale (R - At Large) acted way out of line about everything, while fellow Councilors Anthony Emery (R - At Large), Mikeal Vaughn (R - At Large), Diana Likens (R - District 2), and Robert Steele (R - District 4) fell right in line with him!

Every one of the Councilors should be ashamed of themselves. And their actions (or inactions) must be dealt with, and they will be dealt with! The biggest takeaway from what happened and the biggest issue is the fact that Councilor Jodi Norrick (R - District 3) SAT QUIETLY, NOT SPEAKING UP, NOT FIGHTING AGAINST THE CORRUPT WAYS OF THE REST OF THE COUNCIL! She just sat quietly, going along with it.

* It is important to note that Councilor Bethany Keller (R - District 1) was not in attendance at the meeting in question, but it would not be difficult to imagine that she, too, would sit by while something like this took place. Finding out where she stands on such action(s) will be important for the future!

Councilors Norrick and Keller are supposed to be the "GOOD ONES!" They are considered to be the Councilors fighting for the citizens and freedom. But if Norrick is unwilling or unable to speak up and is willing to sit by as wrongdoing occurs, then she is NO DIFFERENT than the others! Once Councilor Keller returns, what side of this fight will she fall on?

That brings us to Elected Sheriff John Beeman (R), the Law Enforcement Officer who went along with Councilor Gale's request to remove Katherine! Sheriff Beeman has been someone who has been counted as standing on the right side of all of this! But that was while it was quiet and didn't matter. Once the shit hits the fan and when decisions have to be made to act lawfully or not, that is when it is determined what side of history someone is on! And in this situation, he screwed up!
