Modern construction uses stones that one strong person can manipulate. Not because larger stones are unavailable - but because working with ten or fifty ton stones is economically irrational. The cost in time, labor, and logistics makes it impractical for any society operating within normal resource constraints. At that point the explanation of an exceptional local anomaly collapses entirely.
