Hegseth Calling Journalists ‘Pharisees’? Let’s Fact-Check That.

Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth compared journalists to “Pharisees” while defending criticism of the press over coverage of a potential war with Iran.

But that comparison doesn’t hold up.

In the very biblical story he references, the Pharisees represent religious authority while those questioning power and rigid interpretations of the law are the ones challenging them-- and guess who was questioning the Pharisees...
