2:01Now PlayingIn a recent article on Truthout, Mike Lofgren explains that right wing media outlets like Fox News are designed with one intention – distracting and misinforming the public. But more importantly, Fox is responsible for the violent rhetoric that is inspiring killers.
The recent tragedy at a Louisiana movie theater is a prime example. The murderer, John Houser, was an ardent viewer of Fox News, and was unhinged to the point that he blamed the government for all of his ills in life. His failed businesses, his failed marriage, his failed therapy sessions – all of these were the fault of the government, because that’s who Fox News told him to blame.
Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.
