Republican Senator Ted Cruz got cocky and angry with a reporter this week after he was asked to put on a face mask while addressing the crowd. Cruz retorted that he and all of his friends (Republican lawmakers) behind him had been vaccinated, and that he would absolutely not be wearing a mask on TV. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains why Ted Cruz is, once again, wrong about everything.

Yesterday, Ted Cruz was asked politely by reporters that he was standing in front of to put on a mask. You see, Ted Cruz was getting ready to be on TV in front of all of these reporters. And he wanted to look good. He wanted to make sure everybody could see his beautiful face. And he told the reporter that, no, I am not going to cover up my face while I'm on TV, but you could actually just step away from me. The exchange was a little more than just that. So here is Ted Cruz letting us all know that by God, whether you want to or not, you're going to see his face here. He is.

Uh, yeah, when I'm talking to the TV camera, I'm not going to wear a mask and all of us have been immunized. So, uh, you're welcome to step away. If you like the whole, the whole point of a vaccine, CDC guidance is what we're following.

The interesting part of that is that he says he is following the CDC guidance, except that he's not because here's the thing that a lot of people, I think aren't really understanding. And that is that even if you've been vaccinated, guess what? You're still supposed to wear a mask because you can still be a carry your, you can still contract and spread the disease. It's just less likely that you're going to have the severe symptoms of it. And your body of course, is able to remove the virus faster than the body of somebody who has not been vaccinated, which is why you typically don't see symptoms. But there is according to the studies, a good 72 hour period where you could still be contagious, even though you don't have any symptoms and you ultimately don't have any symptoms because you've been vaccinated. So no Ted your decision to not wear a mask in that particular situation is against CDC guidelines.

And on a more personal note, I can also pretty much guarantee you that there is not a person in this country that actually wants to look at your entire face. You would be doing each and every one of us, a favor. If you kept that face mask on 24 seven, I guess you could take it off in the shower, but nobody wants to see your face. Nobody cares enough not to mention the fact. You also brought up, Hey, all these guys behind me are vaccinated too. You sure about that? Tad cause over 25% of Republicans in Congress have said, they're not going to get vaccinated. So are you sure? Do you know, for a fact that those colleagues behind you were vaccinated because Republicans seemed to have some real hangups about whether or not they're going to do this because of course that's what Republicans do.

They put up a fight just for the sake of putting up a fight. And that is exactly what Ted Cruz did here. There was no reason for that, man, not to just put on a quick little mask. He absolutely could have, he should have, but he got cocky. He got arrogant and he lied to that reporter who asked him politely to put on the mask. This is nuts. And unfortunately this is what we have to deal with on the other side, just pure unadulterated nuttiness, because these people love to pick fights for the sake of picking fights.
