The plan would be funded by taxing corporations at a higher rate and making them actually pay their fair share in taxes. So president Biden has unveiled his a $2 trillion infrastructure plan later on down the road, I believe next month, actually, I guess that's this month now we're going to get another $2 trillion plan for, um, healthcare and other parts of that. But the first big part is the actual infrastructure where we're talking about roads and bridges and, and revamping the nation's energy grid and trying to switch to renewable energy and $2 trillion for that. Um, yes, it falls way short of what we need it to be, but I think that's a conversation for another day. Hey, here's the kicker. This plan is paid for by raising taxes on corporations here in the United States, pretty straightforward, right? They use our infrastructure. They benefit from it more than anyone on else. So pay up, start paying your taxes. I mean, I don't even see why this is a controversial view that if you benefit the most from our infrastructure, you should have to pay a little more to keep it updated.

You know, we had all those so-called infrastructure weeks from the Trump white house, but they only use those to kind of distract us from whatever scandal of the day was happening with the administration. And here we have a real chance to help rebuild the nation's crumbling infrastructure and Republicans are suddenly against it because, Oh, we got to, got to have corporations pay a little bit of money here, the money that they owe the federal government, by the way, they have been coddled for far too long, they have been getting away with exploiting loopholes and paying nothing in taxes. Some of the most profitable businesses in this country pay nothing in federal income tax every year. And in fact, some of them actually still get subsidies back. So they actually make money from the government every year. And Republicans are still off that we want to end that, uh, one of the people is former vice president, Mike Pence, who was teamed up with one of his former top AIDS, Mark Short to create a group called coalition, to protect American workers.

And they're going to be running ads attacking this infrastructure plan, claiming that raising taxes on corporations, Oh my God, that's going to kill jobs. How is it going to kill jobs? Well, they don't really know because it doesn't really do that, but they're going to try to sell it as such much like they tried to sell trickle-down economics is give corporations tax breaks. They're going to give you more money. And that never happened none of the times when it was tried, but they're going to keep trying to sell a different version of that myth to the American public Mitch McConnell. Also out there furious about the fact that corporations may have to pay a little bit more in money in taxes so that we can rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. Mitch McConnell said, uh, uh, the president's going to send our economy in the wrong direction.

And by, by raising taxes on corporations, let me ask you a question right now, Mitch, where do you think our economy is? What direction do you think our economy is going right now during this recession? Huh? The problem with our economy is that we only view it as how well are mega corporations doing? Do people have jobs? Yes or no. It doesn't matter what kind of jobs they could be.
