4:03Now PlayingDuring an appearance on Fox News this week, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy admitted that Joe Biden legitimately won the 2020 presidential election, and this immediately sent rabid Trump supporters into a tailspin. They lashed out on social media, calling McCarthy a traitor and a coward for this admission, showing how deeply they've bought into the delusion that Trump should still be the President. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening and why it is so dangerous.

This week, House minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, appeared on Fox news with host Bret Baier, where Bret asked him about the 2020 election, is Joe Biden the legitimately elected president of the United States and Kevin McCarthy minority leader of the Republicans in the US House of Representatives admitted that yes, Joe Biden is the legitimately elected president of the United States. And as you can imagine, it only took a few moments before Trump supporters went absolutely insane on social media. They began attacking Kevin McCarthy, the guy who has been a loyal little stooge to Donald Trump, even at times when he acted like he wasn't going to be a stooge to Trump, is now somehow the worst person on the planet to these Trump supporters. I got to read a selection of the Twitter responses, because they're just hilarious. All right. First one, GOP leader just said that Joe Biden was legitimately elected. He is a weak ineffective leader. He needs to never be speaker when we retake the House. Biden was elected legitimately. Here we go, folks.
Another RINO. Donald Trump, Jr. please tell us you do not support this guy. They always go whining, like, Trump Jr. please tell me I can't support. Oh no. God. Kevin McCarthy, you are a fraud. I heard what you said about Biden being legitimately elected. You are a RINO. There was election fraud. What a liar you are. I heard what you said. Everybody heard it, you idiot. It was on TV. It's not like he whispered it to his friend in a movie theater. GOP leader just told Bret Baier that Joe Biden is the legitimate president and Biden was legitimately elected. He's wrong and will be proven long. He must go. Oh, will be proven wrong. Sorry. He must go. Hey Kevin, we won't vote for GOP like you. So I guess you are planning on losing in 2022, along with the rest of the establishment. Finally here, Kevin McCarthy, I put you on my RINO list today. I bet a lot of other people did too. For you to say on public that, on public, okay, that Donald Trump legitimately lost the 2020 election and that Biden won makes me know you are not the leader I thought you were. I hope we vote you out in 2022.
I do too. I mean, I'm with you on that. I sincerely hope that Kevin McCarthy gets voted out of office in 2022. That would be wonderful. These people are nuts. They really and truly are. And I just can't get over how rabid they truly are. I mean, when you have an entire Republican party right now that what is it still 50% of them, more than 50% believe that Joe Biden wasn't legitimately elected. This is a psychosis that runs through the entire Republican party. This is not something that can be fixed. This is who these people are now. Like the one who did the, like, at Donald Trump Jr. are just seeing this and please tell us you don't love this guy. Like they're whining to their masters about this, because that is exactly what the Trump family has become to these people. They can't think anything without approval from the Trumps. They can't feel anything. They can't do anything. They can't support anyone unless the Trump family gives them permission to. It's sad. It's weak. It's pathetic. But hey, that's today's Republican party.
