3:52Now PlayingHouse Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy attacked Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger by calling them "Pelosi Republicans" on Monday, and Cheney fired back by saying that McCarthy was "childish." Meanwhile, members of the House Freedom Caucus are demanding that Kinzinger and Cheney be punished for accepting roles on the committee. It is a complete dumpster fire over on the Republican side, but none of them seem to have enough sense to understand that. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Things in the Republican party are getting stupider by the day. Yesterday, House minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, lashed out at both Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger calling them Pelosi Republicans because they took seats on the January 6th select committee. Liz Cheney, when asked about McCarthy's comments later in the day responded that he was being childish. And then at the same time, you have members of the House Freedom Caucus, a growing number of members of the House Freedom Caucus and other Republicans, calling for Kevin McCarthy to strip both Kinzinger and Cheney of all of their other committee assignment. This infighting inside the House of Representatives among the Republicans over this January 6th committee is just reaching new levels each and every day. Question is why? See,tThis is actually an issue, folks, that the public is paying attention to.
The public wants these committees. They want these hearings and the hearings are actually about to start here pretty soon. They want answers. They want to know what happened that day. And every time the Republicans come out and they try to obstruct it, or they vote down, you know, the bipartisan commission that we could have had, the public watches. So they can sit there and try to attack these Republicans for taking spots on the committee. But they're not actually mad that these Republicans are going to be working with the Democrats and getting answers. They're mad that these Republicans are working with the Democrats period. You see having Kinzinger and Cheney on that committee blows up McCarthy's biggest talking point. And that is that this committee is a partisan sham conducted by Democrats to make Republicans look bad. The more Republicans that Nancy Pelosi puts on that panel, the more bi-partisan it becomes.
So she is actually destroying Kevin McCarthy's talking points and making him look like an idiot in the process. He looks pathetic. He looks weak. His own House Freedom Caucus is now getting at him because he's not punishing the other two. This infighting is only going to escalate from this point, because McCarthy has been put in a position to where no matter what he does, he can't win. If he does listen to the Freedom Caucus, strips Cheney and Kinzinger of their committee assignments, Pelosi can actually come right behind him and put them back on those committees. She has the authority to do that. So he can't actually punish them without his punishment being undone, showing how weak the minority leader really is. But he's also at risk of off the far right Freedom Caucus by not punishing them and then they're going to attack him.
They're going to call him weak and he could lose his minority leader status because of that. The important thing to remember is that all of this is completely deserved for every single one of these angry Republicans. And I hope this committee does result in information that could possibly lead to prosecution of some of these Republicans. I think the biggest thing I want answers about is why was Boebert tweeting out Pelosi's location? And I know I've mentioned that a lot, but I still think that's something we need to, we need to get to the bottom of. It's not something that really makes sense unless of course, you're, you're trying to tell people where she is for some reason.
