Republicans across the country are starting to voice their concerns over the sham of a ballot audit that is still taking place in Arizona. More and more officials have been speaking out about the ongoing farce, but their voices might not mean much in the long run, as plenty of Republicans - with the help of extreme right wing media - have been hyping up the audit as the new gold standard in election security. Ring of Fire's Farron  Cousins explains what's happening and why this won't end with just Arizona.

AA new report by Steven Rosenfeld with the Independent Media Institute has revealed that Republicans across the country are also now joining the rest of the country in getting really annoyed and fed up to put it bluntly with the ongoing drama surrounding the Arizona ballot audit. Here's what he has to say. A slew of election officials and experts have been holding press briefings to frame the Senate's inquest as a sham, grift and disinformation campaign. These people, including Republicans, Democrats, a bipartisan taskforce, technologists and academics have released new reports, slamming the effort and say the process is anything but a professional election audit. But the most telling comments in recent days have come from Republicans who have candidly described their Trumpian flank as unhinged, paranoid, conspiratorial and willing to foment unrest rather than face reality. Namely, that Trump lost Arizona because suburban Republicans did not vote for him.

And the article goes on, it does have specific Republican's, their actual quotes, but here's the thing. When you've lost a good portion of your own party because of this sham of a ballot audit that you insist still needs to continue, then you've already lost. Or have you? And this is another point that Rosenfeld brings up in the article. The problem is the damage may already be done because even as more people are waking up and seeing that what's happening in Arizona is total BS. You had 40 different Republicans from across the country, lawmakers 40 Republican lawmakers from across the country, go and take a tour of the audit. Basically get the blueprint for it so they could take it back to their state, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, I believe was out there too and plenty of other states. So they're going to do the same thing eventually, maybe not with the 2020 election at this point.

But there would be nothing stopping them from doing it in 2022 or 2024 if they don't get the results they like. That's the danger of this. The danger, the threat was never that the ballot audit was going to show that Biden stole the election. No, that was never a thing, which I'm sure is why cyber ninjas continues to delay the release of that audit report, which for the record was due in its final form on Wednesday of this week. But, you know, they all came down with COVID and oh no. Oh, we can't put the report out. Really? What, were you going to write it the night before? I mean, that, that's what drives me crazy about the COVID excuse. I totally get you got COVID. I'm willing to bet you had no precautions in place. But shouldn't most of it already have been done? Like you knew it was coming due in, in two days, and then on Monday you're like, ah, shucks, we all got COVID. We were totally going to write it tonight, like afterschool, but oh. No, no, no.

This is nutso, and the problem is it's going to be nutso all across the country, from this point going forward. It doesn't matter that cyber ninjas is eventually going to come out and either lie their asses off about what they found or have to sheepishly admit that they found nothing. But until then, this thing is going to spread. This thing is going to happen all over the country and Republicans are never going to stop trying to overturn election results as we move forward as a nation.
