Joe Manchin Has Profane Meltdown After Reporter Asks Him A Simple Question

Joe Manchin grew furious with reporters on Wednesday after they asked him why he wants to trim down the child tax credit in the Build Back Better Act (which is now on ice.) Manchin said that the question was "bullshit" and that he never suggested scaling it down. But he DID do exactly that - Manchin is the one who demanded an income cap on those receiving the credit down to $60,000, which would have cut off 37 million children. Well, the build back better act is, I don't wanna say officially dead, but it is pretty much officially dead at this point and a lot of that has to do with Joe Manchin. Joe Manchin met with president Biden yesterday. The two were having negotiations. One of the hot bus, button issues they were discussing was the child tax credit. Reports said that Manchin wanted to pare it down. Joe Biden didn't wanna do that. They couldn't reach an agreement. So Democrats came out later in the day and said, you know what, screw it. We're shelving build back better. We're gonna focus on voting rights, which in order to do that, you have to get Manchin on board with killing the filibuster, which he said, he's not gonna do. So, okay. You're just moving onto something else you know you're not gonna do. We need it. We need the voting rights act.

But I have no faith in you after watching what you did to build back better that you're gonna pass it. But anyway, after this meeting that Manchin had with Biden Manchin runs into some reporters and Manchin seemed a little pissy because he went on a profane rant against these reporters. The kind of which that, by the way, if Trump had done it, we would be talking about nonstop and Manchin does it and the media mentions it and then moves on as if it's no big deal. Here's what Manchin said. This is. You're. I'm done. I'm done. I'm not opposed to child tax credit. I've never been opposed to child tax credit. Guys, I'm not negotiating with any of you all. You can ask all the questions you want. Guys, let me go. This is. You're. And then as he walks away, he says, God almighty, you know, because he's mad. Because they asked him, why do you oppose the child tax credit?

And so he starts fuming. Everybody's. You reporters are. I never said that. From October 21st of this year. More than 37 million children could lose the enhanced monthly child tax credit if Democrats adopt Senator Joe Manchin's reported desire to include an income cap of $60,000 per year, a new analysis finds. That wasn't even two months ago. That wasn't even two months ago that this was out there negotiating down the child tax credit and he has the audacity to walk up to a reporter, call them for correctly pointing out what this man has been doing for months now. This is insane. This is absolutely utterly insane. The Democratic party needs to kick Joe Manchin out. Strip him of his committee assignments. Do not let him take another dime from the Democratic party. Force this son of a out of the party. That's what you have to do. This man does not deserve any of the support of the Democratic party's apparatus because he's not supporting you.

He's not doing a thing to help you. He's hurting you. He's killing your party. He's tanking your chances of winning the midterms, because he doesn't care. He'll just go and hang with the Republicans. Get rid of him today. This is horrendous behavior that every one of you, I'm talking about the Democrats in the Senate, y'all would've given floor speeches had Donald Trump done this to, to a reporter, talked about his assault on the press. This is one of your own. But you can make him not one of your own. Kick him out, cut him off, say goodbye. He is not gonna go along with you on anything that you need to get done in the next 12 months. I promise you that.
