This isn't the first time that Thomas has shown support for the events of January 6th - On the actual day of the riot she was posting messages of support on social media...until observers caught wind of it and she ended up deleting her Facebook account to save face. Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas, has signed on an open letter to Republican representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger telling them that the Capitol rioters did absolutely nothing wrong. Let me read an excerpt here from this letter. The actions of representatives Cheney and Kinzinger on behalf of House Democrats have given supposedly bipartisan justification to an overtly partisan political persecution that brings disrespect to our country's rule of law, legal harassment to private citizens who have done nothing wrong and which demeans the standing of the House. So it's not exactly clear whether she's talking about the people who have done nothing wrong are the ones being subpoenaed by the panel or in fact, if she's talking about the Capitol rioters, because we really do have two separate issue that this January 6th committee is looking into. But either way, whichever group she is referring to, she's wrong.

So if we wanna say that, oh no, they shouldn't be harassing people with subpoenas. They shouldn't be going after Jim Jordan and Kevin McCarthy. Yeah. You're wrong. The communications that we have seen from other individuals indicate that these people and many others were involved somehow in casting doubt on the results of the election. Some of them even involved in planning attempts to overthrow the election results. So yeah, they did do things wrong and we need to get to the bottom of it. As far as the Capitol rioters go, obviously that speaks for itself. But if we have to infer from the context here and of course from past history, we have to assume of course that Ginni Thomas is referring to the Capitol rioters themselves. And the reason I say that is because on January 6th, 2021, Ginni Thomas was post messages of support for the Capitol rioters on her Facebook page. And once individuals started, you know, getting the screen grabs of those positive messages for the rioters from a Supreme Court Justice's wife, she deleted her Facebook, said, uh-oh, I've done some pretty stupid things today. Let me go away from Facebook forever.

So yes, she was clearly supporting what was taking place that day. So it stands to reason that this letter she signed onto is referring to the Capitol rioters did nothing wrong. Well, now Ginni Thomas is facing calls for the January 6th committee to go ahead and subpoena her to find out if her group, her right leaning group, Groundswell, somehow provided any financing for the activities that took place on January 6th. And honestly, I hope the committee does that. If for no other reason than to put some pressure on her, to put the spotlight on her. You know, I know there's been plenty written about, plenty of folks have talked about Ginni Thomas and her connection to all these right wing groups, including some that her husband has had to make rulings for at the Supreme Court and didn't recuse himself. But it's time for that spotlight to come back. It's time for people to remember who this individual is and how that may have influenced her husband's ruling on the Supreme Court. That's what needs to happen. So committee get busy. Ginni Thomas is just sitting there waiting for that subpoena.
