Republican Party Agrees That Insurrections Are ‘Legitimate Public Discourse’

On Friday, the Republican party decided to formally censure both Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for taking part in the January 6th select committee. But in their formal censure, they included a little bit of language that has actually created even more problems for the Republican party, because it says that Kinzinger and Cheney were censured partly because of quote, participating in a Democrat led persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse. Legitimate political discourse. Now I'm sure if you're watching this, you, you were probably also watching what took place on January 6th on your, on your TV, on your computer, on your phone, whatever it is, if not, you've seen clips of it. Did anything that happened at that Capitol building that day look like legitimate political discourse?

Or did it look like a group of crazy insurrectionists that wanted to stop the certification of a United States election? Did it look like a bunch of people who wanted to steal stuff and disrupt the Capitol? Did it look like people who wanted to kill the vice president? Because that's what happened that day. That's what we saw, people dressed up in, you know, their horned helmets and in their loincloths carrying rebel flags through the Capitol, carrying their Trump flags. This was not legitimate political discourse. But that is what the RNC says. And of course, RNC chair Ronna Romney McDaniel came out and said, this is a lie. We didn't say this. We weren't talking about that being legitimate political discourse. Just, you know, other things. Hmm. What other things? What other things involved normal citizens?

Because all of the other avenues that the committee is going through, they're not looking at normal citizens. They're looking at members of Congress. They're looking at the former president. They're looking at his aids. They're looking at Fox news personalities. None of those are normal citizens. Normal citizens would in fact, apply to anyone who is a non-governmental, non-media entity and those were the individuals who stormed the Capitol. So matter how much dancing around the words Ronna McDaniel does, she cannot change what the RNC put in those formal censures. They're the pro insurrection party. They're 100% pro trying to overthrow the government. Trying to get answers about that, oh no, no, no, no, no. That's, that's uncalled for. That'll absolutely get you kicked outta the party.

And let's remember one thing here, folks, this all happened in a week where Donald Trump for the first time ever last Sunday, openly admitted, I wanted Pence to overturn the results of the election. I mean, just a few hours after the party voted to censure Cheney and Kinzinger, who I honestly, I don't care if you censure 'em or not. Like I don't like them either way. So whatever. But a few hours after that Pence finally had to come out and say, listen, Trump is wrong. What he did was unAmerican. And yet the Republican party took a firm stand and they said, well, Trump almost basically admitted to a coup this week. So let's go ahead and punish Cheney and kinzinger. They've made their choice. This is who they are. If you who support the Republican party, you're supporting the party of insurrection. There is no divorcing these two anymore. They're one and the same and so is everybody else that calls themselves a Republican.
