According to new reports, Donald Trump already has someone in mind to replace Mitch McConnell: Lindsey Graham. Trump has reportedly been asking his associates if they think that Lindsey could handle the job, even as Graham has made it clear that he has no intention of taking over for McConnell. Trump's hatred of McConnell is clearly increasing, but betting everything on Lindsey Graham is definitely a losing strategy, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Donald Trump is apparently not giving up his crusade against Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell, and according to new reports, Trump has in recent weeks, months, whatever it is, been talking to some of his folks down at Mar-a-Lago trying to find someone, anyone that can take down Mitch McConnell and by God, Donald Trump thinks he's found the man for the job, Lindsey Graham. That's right. According to reports, Donald Trump has been asking his friends and advisors down at Mar-a-Lago if quote, do you think Lindsey could do it? Do you think Lindsey could do it? Do you think Lindsey Graham might be the person to step up and challenge McConnell for that leadership post? Now, Lindsey Graham has said that Donald Trump has not approached him about this, but he made it very clear that he has absolutely no interest whatsoever, in challenging McConnell for that particular position.

And there's a good reason for that. You see Lindsey Graham is not a leader. Lindsey Graham is a follower. He always has been, you know, he had hitched his wagon to John McCain. Before that he hitched it to George W. Bush. Then after McCain passed, he hitched his wagon to Donald Trump. He bitches his wagon to anyone that he believes has more power than he does, which is pretty much everybody and he follows them along like a little puppy dog. You know, like, oh my God, what are we gonna do today? Where are we gonna go? Can we go outside? I'd love to go outside. Can I have a treat? Do you have anything for me? Honestly, it's almost like the little guy in Beauty and the Beast that follows around Gaston, LeFou. That, that's who Lindsey Graham is, right? He follows them around, tells them how great they are, tells them how much he loves them and how everybody wants to be them and how perfect they are.

That's Lindsey Graham. Lindsey Graham is not the leader. Lindsey Graham is not the kind of person that people rally around. He's the guy that's a part of the rally. So it really does blow my mind. I know Graham has been loyal to Trump, but it blows my mind nevertheless, that Donald Trump would even suggest that, which to me clearly suggests that Donald Trump is very, very bad at what he does. If you're looking for a real leader in that US Senate, somebody capable of getting other people, you know, to go along with them, Lindsey Graham's not the guy for the job. I mean, not that I want to heap praise on literally any Republicans in the Senate, but there are a couple names that do pop into my mind, of people that could probably, you know, draw a crowd, get people to follow them.

Lindsey Graham, isn't one of them. But this ongoing feud between Trump and McConnell continues to, to, to, I guess, get worse if you want to call it that. But Trump's not gonna back down. He's going to insist that somebody replace Mitch McConnell because obviously he's still mad McConnell did not somehow overturn the results of the election. Even though McConnell did save Donald Trump's by not convicting him in the Senate and not whipping up Republicans to do that. Trump owes everything to McConnell. But because McConnell wouldn't do that one thing for him, his head is apparently on Trump's chopping block and he's not gonna stop until he finds somebody dumb enough to take McConnell on head first.
